When Justin Holley graduated from the Radnor ABC Program in 2022, he hit the ground running at Montclair State University (MSU). Now a senior double majoring in English and Secondary Education, Justin has packed his college years with his endless passions. We sat down with him to hear about his journey, how Radnor ABC helped prepare him for his next chapter and find out what's next for him.
Living in a house with 10 other kids in the Radnor ABC program was like a masterclass in life skills. Away from home, I learned to develop independence, navigate challenging social dynamics, and build relationships. The program taught me how to prioritize, pivot, and most importantly, develop resilience. One of the biggest lessons? The most daunting moments in life never matter quite as much as they seem. That self-empowering reflection gave me the confidence to tackle whatever came next!
Education has always been central to my life, thanks to my parents and an incredible teacher at Radnor High School (RHS), Mr. Rosin. His welcoming classroom inspired me to pursue education, and now I'm student teaching at Verona Public Schools, channeling that same energy. My passion for mentoring made teaching a natural fit, and my English major has sharpened skills like critical thinking and communication that translate beautifully to my other great love: theater.
I've been a theater enthusiast since I was a kid. As a vehicle for expression, it’s taught me crucial lessons in living authentically. RHS’s theater program cultivated my passion, from You Can’t Take It with You to Mamma Mia. At MSU, I've taken it to another level as the Chair of Box Office of Players, a student-theater organization of our Student Government Association. I've directed two improv shows, choreographed countless musical numbers, and always returned to acting. My academics enhance every aspect of this work through language fluency and understanding connections between art and the human condition.
I'm proud of everything I've accomplished and excited to wrap up my internship while continuing in theater. And who knows–maybe one day I'll find myself back at Radnor High School…this time on the other side of the desk!
